Fuji TV announced that the TV network will live broadcast AKB48's upcoming event AKB48 53rd Single World Senbatsu General Election on 16 June 2018. Miyane Seiji and Mita Yurika will serve as MC for the event.
BS SKY PerfectTV! also announced they will live broadcast the event from 10:30 am to 20:00 pm on 16 June 2018, the broadcast will include the concert and vote count announcement.
AKB48 53rd Single World General Election is an event that will determine the line-up for AKB48's 53rd single. It will be the group's tenth annual General Election, and it will be their first time the election including overseas sister group BNK48 and TPE48, the event will take place at Nagoya Dome on 16 June 2018.
