I remember your comment b4, it seems you quite support her.

    @Jsprite

It is very hard to prove in 48 seconds that you are superior in an activity like dancing. All the girls did a great job. Yokochan's view count is due to the fact maybe that Team 8 fans have nothing else to do but to watch her 48 seconds...
Regardless of the view count I like MutoTomu's performance ...so charming as she always is, fine as gold.

@ Paul Cho Yes, I am a Yui supporter. I have been interested in street dancing competition for a while. I saw a lot on Youtube and I had seen Fun☆Girl before. When I saw Yui's bio and saw that she was in Fun☆Girl, I checked it out. She was pretty good at the age of 10 and 11 and competed against older girls as well as other young standouts. You can see some of these individual contests on Youtube by searching on these:

[青森日産乗れそれ杯 DANCE BATTLE] BEST8 AKIRA vs YUI
[青森日産乗れそれ杯 DANCE BATTLE] 準決勝 YUI vs RICO
    [青森日産乗れそれ杯 DANCE BATTLE] キッズ予選 HIPHOP

More recently, her team won the AKB dance contests held on AKBingo in 2017 and 2018. They are also on Youtube. I am guessing most people here have seen them.

This one was also pretty good. It was a performance at a festival with Honda Hitomi in 2016:

    AKB48 Team 8 & Da-Yoshi Collaboration Dance @ 2016 ABA Program Festival (だーよし、横山結衣、本田仁美)

There is a lot more, but I am sure you get the idea.

Yokochan is one of the best dancer in AKB48. She is also pretty and cute. I don't understand why wasn't she rank in senbatsu sousenkyo? And why the management didn't push her? From AKBingo I know that she is quite popular, in her hometown, Aomori. Hope she can be more popular in Japan and can get in the senbatsu song. Dance senbatsu only song is not enough.

@alex individual skill is not necessarily important in 48G, it's a plus but not the most essential. Why? Because 48G is a 'group' not solo, Yokochan being one of the best dancers will still have to do the same choreo as the not so good dancers. Unless she's someone like Sayanee whose voice overpower the others even when sharing line. But she might get a chance when AKB do sth like UZA again where a member wasn't capable of the hard choreo so other person replaced her. Or so I hope, I personally like her a lot but I guess management isn't ready to push her bc she hasn't ranked yet.

@Tuberose Actually the difference between a good dancer and a not so good dancer show up the most when they are dancing the same choreo. That difference can be huge.

While I'm supporting Kojima Mako - I'm officially sure as to why she didn't place in the final "30"? of Produce48. The reason is very simple & sadly superficial. She's dancing in a potato sack. Because her sweatshirt & pants are soo loose you see delayed movement & it makes her dancing look jumpy & frantic- Not precisional. The faster she dances, the clumsier it looks.

I'm not suggesting she wear a bikini but she wore VERY Baggy clothes for her final stage on Prod48- Look at the KPOP girls in 90% of KPOP vids, they wear form fitting or limb freeing clothes- it's a Performance Visual. How can we see your precision dancing if we can't see your limbs moving? All you see if a flurry of sweat suit limbs- it's a blur of fabric. Even Jurina who I gather is somewhat modest dresses for optimal dance visual.

Want Proof? Look at Aoi Motomura (HKT48) she's got like 52K views & she was on Prod48. She's got a T-shirt & stretch pants. You can see how complicated the dance is- Where her arms stop & the precision movements. Mako needs to show she's actually dancing & not hide inside a tent. I've seen her gravure & bikini shots- her body is fine.

Minegishi - GET OFF THE STAGE! Why didn't you goto Korea if you were into KPOP & Dancing. You're not going to be the next "Ace" & no one ever thought of you as a dancer. It's a VISUAL medium & unless Kojima Haruna is next to you, you can't compete w/ the teenage gals (just my opinion)

Fans that can't respect a 1st generation member who helped build the group they like so much from the ground up are pretty suspect, in my opinion.
Especially when that member has more theater performances than any other by a large margin and has devoted her entire young life to the group.

  • Comment Link Tuberose Tuesday, 13 November 2018 10:25 posted by Tuberose

@Momo yes but there's rarely any individual part for the choreo which will cause a disharmony or should I said Fukyouwaon haha. Should do sth like Yaban no Kyuuai maybe.

@CP I agree, this is why 'brain' is important for an idol as well. There's clothing made for dance to give better silhouette, and ofc a right hair do is as important. Look at Kato Minami dancing in her twintail, not pleasing. Or Hanachan who keeps looking down and had her hair covered her face

Thank You @Remy for your input. YOU are precisely WHY Minegishi will not 'Go Away' (Not you specifically but). At the height of Minegishi's AKB popularity was really 'That Popular'? The girl slipped out of Senbatsu in 2013? The Scandal of Feb 2013 which she milked (with an iron grip) gave her a shot in the arm but she's been slowly fading ever since. She was never in Itano, Kojiharu, Mariko, Kasai, Mayu, Yuko, ect league. She knows it. She lingers arounds doing anything for attention. People see it & they're polite but NO PITY Points! (That's a Western thing).

It's like the one male athlete who was part of a winning team in high school who STILL shows up to the high school beer parties trying to hang w/ the popular kids even though his whole class GRADUATED like 3-5 years ago. Why doesn't she just get a job w/ AKS or become what Shinobu was or work in the Media relations office for AKS- Something. NO ONE cares she was a founding member when ALL the Originals have MOVED ON. You don't see ANYONE else 'hanging around'. Surely she can do other things in Entertainment by now.

So because other members leave she should have to? I don't understand your reasoning. If she wants to continue being an idol why is that offensive to you? You don't think she deserves a right to do that simply because she isn't a senbatsu member anymore or isn't as popular as Itano? That's ridiculous.
Being a senbatsu member isn't the only way a member can contribute. The members she was the captain of in the second team 4 and basically shaped in her time as a trainee are some of the most popular and important members of the group right now, including Mako. What makes you think she isn't continuing to help other young members develop?
You think they should just shove her out because other 1st gens decided they no longer want to be idols? Most of the members of the 1st generation were significantly older than her by half a decade if not more. Most of the members of the second generation were older than her. She's only a year older than Mayuyu, Kashiwagi is several years older than her. Your athlete analogy is built on a poor understanding of how the generations work and how graduations work since no one is simply expected to leave after a certain amount of years.
If she still wants to be an idol and I have the honor of contributing to her continuing to do so, I should be pretty pleased with myself.

To people who said Miichan should leave the group is sure being delusional .. You have no idea how much contribution she gave to the group .. HOW MANY AKB48 POPULAR MEMBERS CAME FROM UNDER HER CARE .. She has been helped to raised young members , management trust her more .. Miichan influence in the group is believed stronger than Yuihan Soukantoku .. If you can't respect AKB48 1st generation that work their ass during early days to built this group , Just keep that comment to yourself ..

I love people like Remy & Sachimich48... Is this really what you all tell yourselves? When the people speak of LEGENDS of AKB does anyone IN AKB proper ever mention Minegishi? You're not fooling anyone.

Now- you're trying to rope in Team 4 as a symbol of her success? Over looked Team 4? I think Tentema-Chu had more singles. Remember when they goofed on Minegishi in their Idol School Girls Detectives for being not KAWAII (they mocked her & called her a Showa Era comedian)- Even Minegishi was in on the joke. You totally overlooked all the positive things I suggested.

She's wasting her time playing the "Idol game"- Wasn't she just in a stage opera? can't she teach dance at a university? Can't she work in Media or be a talent agent for an Idol agency?...the High School reference is VERY Accurate- Why? because the object of High School is to GRADUATE and enter the work force, goto College, learn a trade?? NOT stick around High School. Sasshi & Yuki stick around but they BOTH have Adult Women jobs in Entertainment AWAY from AKB yes? Even Rika Nakai has TV gigs away from NGT & she's only ranked 37th!

It's Never too late or too early to spread your wings in the Entertainment world when you leave the AKB nest- hell, Milky wait 2 years after Grad & BOOM she's back like nothing happened.

I'm saying Minegishi has squeezed all the milk she's going to get out of AKB48 - She's not just suddenly going to become Sasshi or something if she waits long enough- Japan doesn't give out "Pity points"- Takamina did that already & milked her Graduation for over a year & even KojiHaru goofed on her.

Please show me a list of each member that every current member considers to be a "LEGEND" of AKB, if you can't do that then why are you assuming none of them think so about her? How is that even relevant to whether or not she should continue? Not every member has to be Sashi or Maeda in order to be happy with what they're doing.

If you think the point of AKB48 is to graduate that's wonderful, but why you assume that's what everyone else thinks or should think I don't understand.

Of course Miichan made fun of herself on Tentoumu Chu's show, that's been part of character since the first days of AKBINGO that doesn't mean they don't respect her or see her as someone to learn from.

What did you say that was positive, exactly? That she could get a job doing something else? Great. I acknowledged it. I'm sure she has her own opinion on what is an appropriate "Adult Woman" job but maybe she'd find your judgement interesting, who knows. She could probably do a lot of jobs, clearly she's choosing to be an AKB member. Again, why that offends you is beyond me.

You've clearly thought a lot about this. I appreciate that. But a lot of what you're saying rests on ideas you have about success and meaning, there's no reason to assume she feels the same way you do. It's my opinion that she doesn't need other members or fans to validate her being there. Maybe she agrees or maybe not but it seems reasonable to me to assume that if she didn't want to be an AKB member she would leave. That's good enough for me.

See Remy, you understand me. You totally understood my comparison of the person who sticks around long after their class (or team) has moved on. She knows she's gone as far as she can & still sticks around anyway- You don't find that slightly pathetic? Yeah, it's a paycheck & she's an experienced member but you asked why I cared so I'll tell you. I personally find it cringe-worthy.

I don't think she should be encouraged. I'm not an everyone gets a trophy kind of guy. I've liked many AKB Idols who never got the time of day & even if they get in an A-Side senbatsu or 2 seconds in a MV and still can't break thru it's frustrating. Look at the attention Miki Nishino & Komiyama Haruka get on AKBingo and yet where are they- right next to Minegishi. Why couldn't Miki stick around & just collect a check like Minegishi? She was forced out or felt uncomfortable being there maybe?? but like you said, Maybe Minegishi doesn't care what other people think and that's my point. Why doesn't she? She had a great speech a few years ago & could've left on a high note...now it's becoming pathetic (in my opinion).

If Minegishi (or ANYONE) went to Produce48 & suddenly became popular or reinvented themselves I'd be very happy for her. Maybe she is an amazing dancer? Koreans loved Miyu & Goto Moe even though AKB management had brushed them off- I'd like to see Minegishi find something BETTER than just collecting a check in AKB. There's a ton of things she could do- Why isn't she motivated? It's because she wants hang around AKB like it's 2012?? I bet she'd do it for FREE and that's kinda sad in my opinion.
