AKB48 performed their new song NO WAY MAN on YTV music show Best Hits Kayosai 2018. STU48 member Imamura Mitsuki served the CENTER position for NO WAY MAN, Team 8 member Tanikawa Hijiri, and STU48 member Kadowaki Miyuna served the the SIDEs position.

The song's original lineup have Japanese idol Miyawaki Sakura as CENTER Yabuki Nako and Honda Hitomi as SIDEs, but they have already headed off to IZ*ONE, therefore YTV held a audition to pick 3 members from AKB48 group to replace their positions for TV LIVE performance.

nope, they (miyuna & mitsuki) are fulltime member, STU48 doesn't have team system like the other group (example team A, team K, etc)
they divided their team into 5 thematical unit composed by 6 to 8 member per unit
-STUDIO (dance & vocal unit) miyuna and mitsuki are in this unit
    -SetoMic (MC unit)
    -Charming trip (variety show unit)
    -Seto7 (sport unit)

AKB management gets dumber every day. They need an actual plan or a program to promote people and make them better known to the public. It seems as if they have no interest in that and will just continue the downhill ride of AKB groups until it stops completely. Pulling random people out of the back row is a wasted opportunity.

    @Momo it's the contrary IMO
An awesome opportunity for STU48, or some light in their current strugle.
Yokochan made tons of buzz thanks to her audition video. more people know her now

You know these units are not meant ot perform, right ?
And STU will eventually anounce their first real Team when their theater / boat will be ready.

@ Someone48 These three spots are not much of a push. They would have been better used as recognition for those deserving.

Except of Hijirin I did think those two are okay (Miyuna was good! I have my eyes on her), but never imagined they would get chosen. I honestly thought anyone from STU would be Chiho - since she's pretty popular so it would be a more beneficial push. But those two are doing great too, from Team 8 the obvious choice should be Yokochan tho. But seriously Yukirin looks hot as always!

chiho is a monster, her handshake sale is exceptionaly great for a newbie, even better than most of current senbatsu member
for sure she & yahagi moeka (Team K draft 3) will make it to 55th or 56th (pre seousenkyo single) senbatsu by her own power

Oh look - they picked 3 girls the casual fan never heard of. They didn't go with the established Old Guard- they again went to Team 8 & their newest flavor STU48. This not a win for Okada Nana (why wasnt she, Mion, Yui, ect picked??).

The fact Keyholder wants SKE48 is probably so it can be adapted to the performance based (dance heavy) KPop system the quickest. The World has seen behind AKB's curtain & its highschool level Idoling compared to KPOP. AKS management seems to want fresh, young, ENERGETIC Idols w/ zero baggage. The sleepy days of AKB are over. Theres no more time for Danso nonsense or which Idol deserves what- something has lit a fire under AKS. Where was this passion a year ago?

Now ask yourself - Was AKS just lazily phoning it on & milking the handshakes & doing Disco songs because they really thought that was the future for AKB...OR did they just think the fans were so stupidly devoted that they'd buy Anything?? Now all the sudden they care about being modern & picking fresh Aces & heavy dance songs? Why?? Because they want to impress the Global audience suddenly- maybe.

Either way its proof AKS didnt think You (or its Idols) were worth the treatment & Polish they gave AKB in 2010-2012- AKB did the bare minimum to impress you- this should bother you. I'd like to see AKB reinvent itself but I think its too late.

WOW... I'm totally a Tanikawa Hijiri fan now. There's something to this Team 8. You can tell just in 50 seconds she could be another Sayanee! She's got a Yuko Oshima level aura. She was smooth & yet had knife-point precision w/ her movements. It reminded me of Bruce Lee - so fast yet elegant. I'd like to have seen YuiYui lead this gal has the stuff. I looked up the STU gal...not bad.
