HKT48 manager/member Sashihara Rino shares her thought last night:

"Hope you can shine on another place where is reliable"

with her own comment:

"If it is true, it is weird for a company with lots of minor kids entrust to. I don't think most of people would entrust to. Perhaps I just met the current president once, perhaps lack of communication, it seems the president doesn't notice the persons who are supposed to entrust, now are full of anxiety and distrust. It is horrible and ridiculous."

I am assuming the translation needs refinement. Isnt she saying that she doesn't know why the peoples distrust is dumbped on the current president.

Having looked at the original... here's my take on her tweet:

"If I'm being honest... a company that's entrusted with underage children is weird. The kind of person who's entrusted and left with so many of them... I don't want to think about. Myself, I've never once met nor spoken to the current company president... such a lack of communication, ignorant of the unease and distrust of those in your care. The whole thing is scary and strange."

They literally hit translate on Twitter and that was it.

    @Joe @kinako

    How about this:

"To be honest, it is weird for a company with a lots of minor kids entrust to. I don't want to expect the person with lots of people entrust to, will give people such of impression. I only met the current president once, and don't even chat with the president, perhaps lack of communication, it seems the president doesn't notice the persons who are supposed to care, now are full of anxiety and distrust. It is horrible and ridiculous."

@Paul: thank you for considering my post. The revision reads better. :)

It seems Sasshi is commenting on the NGT situation re: Maho + 2 announcing graduation, and AKS' tone-deaf, cynical decisions at every step. Whatever we may think of Japanese corporate culture (which is ruled by saving face above all else), the disconnect between a CEO and workers' plights, is just as prevalent if not moreso, in the West.

Sasshi is definitely plugged into online culture (anti-corporate)... and with the Olympics opening up Japan to more scrutiny from the global community, I can see why she's commenting on it.

I used an online translator because I can't read kanji or kana and was confused by the translation above, I don't feel any shame in not being able to read such a challenging language as Japanese it diesen't prevent me from enjoying jpop.

Oh btw -- for once, Google Translate actually got pretty close (title of post)

    [ 信頼できる違う場所で輝けますように。] (Sasshi original)

My translation: "I hope you can shine in a different place you can trust."

GT: "I hope you can shine in different places you can trust."

Still to come: will Maho find support and success in other enta (social progress in Japanese corporate and social culture), or be tacitly blacklisted and forced into obscurity (current 'ura'-style punishment for standing up for yourself against abuse by your keepers/benefactors/men, as a woman and idol)?

Seeing how she's received back home in Aomori is probably a good indicator -- ATV and TTB dropped 'Niigata Friend!' like lava once NGT's corpse began to stink... so it'd be interesting to see if they did that to just distance themselves from *all* the controversy... or in support of viewers who petitioned the network to drop NF! to protest AKS's handling of the mess. The latter of course, means we may get to see Mahohon, Rittan, and Renapon back on the air.
