KeyHolder seals 3 Billion Deal for SKE48

Japanese female idol group SKE48 is acquired by Keyholder. Keyholder has confirmed the transaction today (27 December 2018).

AKS sold 80% shares of SKE48 and the usage right of their music (soft), video (soft), production and theatre for 3 billion yen (USD27 million), according to a report from Keyholder, and Keyholder will start managing SKE48 on 1 March 2019, under a company called SKE48 Company Limited (TBC), and new company's CEO will be Akatsuka Yoshihiro (TBC).

    @Tuberose If you are talking about ske the team then No; 10% of the 3B yen is what I think and 1/3 of that is on 1 member; Jurina. But Keyholder is buying ske's entire music & video library and all the other IPs. That cost alot more; especially ske is the only sister group that making steady profit for aks yr after yr.

    @Ricky That does not matter; ske has always been in the fringe when it comes to 48 gp events/promotion. This just give aks more cause to cut them out completely. But when a company is willing to spend that much on a idol group, they certainly has plan for ske. Whether it works or not, only time will tell.
