Out of Techi - Neru - Sakura - Yunana's performance of "Boku wa yada" my rank is: Techi > Yunana > Neru=Sakura

Yunana screaming on top of her lungs with so much emotion is definitely a yes from me

@Paul thanks! I just rewatched it, Sakura's expression was great but she still need to work on her vocal and in delivering her emotion thru her voice. Hope Kpop training method will improve her skill.

Sakuras versions is horrible due to her incredible bad singing voice.
Anything higher pitch or "scream" breaks, always been like that for her.

Her expression is good, but voice is a big ouf and always has been.

Thankfully singing voice means jack shit for Idols, and not even in Izone (both Hitomi and Sakura are bad at vocals)

Putting Sakura's version here is ridiculous. That girl can't sing and her over-reaction kills the song. That's why this song is not for "cute" idols (including the "pushed" SKE girl).

Techi and Yukka-sama have the best version. Outside Keyakizaka family is just mediocre even if they blame Akimoto-sensei for the songs Keyakizaka got.

The roof of "cools songs" 48 groups can perform are: AKB48-UZA, NMB48-Kamonegix, SKE48 (?), HKT48-Make noise.

@Lux there's a lot of cool 48G songs but the performing members are the problem here. Theater songs like: End Roll, Yume no Dead Body, Mushi no Ballad, Mokugekisha etc are all cool but if the members who performed them aren't as cool then the song is ruined. For example, Akimoto Sayaka's version of Mushi no Ballad and Yukirin's version sounds like two different songs. Tbh imo Make Noise shouldn't be performed by HKT, they're too loli for that song.

@Tuberose Let's be honest. AKS and NMB management are especialist wasting real talent for years. On the last years, they pushed the "pervs" favorites because they spend tons of money but now they are in crisis because the "gravure ban" on minors. 48 groups are diying (if not they already are) and Sakamichi are showing a new idol world, especialy Keyakizaka46.

A lot of talented girls just graduated without show their real potential and just fell in the shadows. I really miss the good days on 48 groups. Sakura and Yuna are not a big deal, they are just "no talented pushed girls". I know japanese idol world is not about "the best of the best" like Korea, but you just can't waste real talent.

Sorry if this offend some fans. But I was AKB fan since 2007 and the actual 48 groups "aces" are trash.

Sayaka... oh Sayaka, how I miss her. Her image was one of the best things on AKB.

Thank you for your input, I'm open to discussion.

I gotta agree that a lot of talented members (in singing and dancing) are wasted in 48G. But idol act is not all about singing and dancing, in fact the definition of idol is someone greatly admired or loved thus idol's talent also includes variety skill, MC, fishing the fans (girls like Sasshi, Dasu, Moeka, Yuna, Sakura are known for this). It just South Korea set the bar high that Japanese idols looks and sounds meh compare to them. However, even in Kpop, no solo artist want to be compared to an idol, even in SK idols are fabricated (trained for years) and not actually 'that' talented. So no matter where, idols are seen as less talented but definitely attention-grabber.

Members who are great in singing and dancing without those skills (variety etc) can't make money hence management's neglection. Say, you do realise how many soloist fades away because they have no social skill? Within 48G, girls like Takeuchi Miyu, Akashi Natsuko, Nojima Kano and more do not possess said skills (they're good enough to have few fans but not enough to support them financially).

In western music, even big groups like Destiny Child and Spice Girls only produced one superior girl (Beyonce and Victoria) with actual talent to shine other than singing and dancing.

Talking about singing talent, if it's the most important skill to survive in the industry, the chart would be dominated by Opera, Jazz or Blues singer. But hey where are they? In the end, we must not confuse idols to actual singers.
