Kitahara Rie joins cast in Live-Action DORORO Stage Play

Tezuka Osamu's Dororo is being turned into a Live-Action stage play, former NGT48 member Kitahara Rie will play one of main character "Dororo', an orphan thief who was raised as a man and joins the quest of Hyakkimaru.

The story is set at Sengoku period, a young wanderer called Hyakkimaru (Suzuki Hiroki) try to recover 48 of his body parts from 48 demons, he was was born malformed, limbless and without facial features or internal organs. This was the result of his birth father sacrificed him to 48 demons in exchange for complete domination of the country.

The stage play will run at the Umeda Arts Theater in Osaka from 2 to 3 March 2019, at the Sunshine Theater in Tokyo on 7 to 17 March 2019, at the Momochi Palace in Fukuoka on 20 March 2019, and the Mie Prefecture Culture Hall in Mie on 23 March 2019.
