WTF?? What's happening to SKE? Maybe that's why they're pushing Sugawara so much lately.

I already suspected this when she's not included in the 55th Single's line up

  • Comment Link Spooderman Tuesday, 12 February 2019 15:27 posted by Spooderman

Well she already centered 2 singles, maybe being center was her only goal? I mean after being center there's pretty much nothing else to do, SSK #1 would be impossible for her as she's not in the top 5. It's Like a game, after you beat it there's pretty much nothing to do but wander around.

Damn, another one of my favourites. I get the feeling this is going to be one of those years where it's graduation after graduation after graduation :(

puff, the best center of new generation ske48 graduated... matsui never graduating is bad for new center members.

No more chance to support this group... this groups was good until matsui rena time.

Well this blew up in management's face. They pushed her as the next ace so hard that she actually got all she wanted.

@namaewashiranai you know the most harmful thing you can do to a celebrity is not talk about them. You're trying to make something that has nothing to do with J about her. Fans come and go, but as long as people like you are around, she'll be popular forever.

And another Non-Jurina "ace" candidate suddenly wants to be anywhere but SKE48. They're never going to push Ryoha or let Suda "Center" anything on purpose are they.

I'm sure Jurina is not involved (How could she be) but this is the problem when you don't spread the spotlight. They should have 3-4 girls ready to take "ace" at anytime. I'm not an expert on SKE but it sounds like she'll be missed & people just fell in love with her.

I guess the easier you get sth the more meaningless it became? I meant her reason to grad is bc she has achieved her goal? Or is she going to marry young like her parents?

@Namaewashiranai: err Sayanee was absolute center too and I don't see Mirurun running away, heck while Sayanee is around Mirurun only ever centered twice (one as wcenter) and Yunana got two solo center (Muishiki no Iro was SKE special single too)

I get it, it probably feels like there's no room for growth over there in Jurina-KE38. Jurina is never going to graduate and management is never going to stop focusing on her so SKE is becoming sort of like a black hole for other idols trying to make it big. I can imagine its like knowing that even if management gives you a push and gives you alot of work you are never actually going to be the star so why bother when all you can get is 2nd place no matter what

This is not a surprise actually. It happens a lot when a company switch owner especially when the new owner has little experience with the business. A lot of employee will leave because they do not know the direction & competence of the new owner.

I think everyone forget that KeyHolder; a company make their money in real estate & construction will be taking over ske at the end of march. Now if it is a well known talent agency in the J entertainment world, the new members will stay put. Yes KeyHolder has a entertainment div but it is small & not well connected.

Time will tell if Yunana & the other members who left in the past months make the right decision.

well, she could still take audition to another sister group like one of those former team 8 member.
and pumping boys to heart content while she wait.
    WIN WIN!!

Don't kid yourselves. Who would is want to stay in a group where Jurina is everywhere?. It doesn't matter if she's sick or not she'll always center and her push won't end till she graduates. Not even Dasu being number 2 has managed to give her her righfull center in at least 1 single.
It's all Jurina . At least if she was as talented as Techi I could understand. But there are better performers in SKE like Churi or Dasu and there were more but all graduated.
Honestly it's so frustrating. I was hoping with time she would make space for other members but it's been 10 years and nothing..

So Jurina was voted #1 and took the rest of the year off. Now, just before the election she's right back where she was before the election - doesn't it make you want to vote for her all over again to be #1 in 2019.

@Didi do you seriously compare Techi to Jurina? Jurina is 10 x's the Idol Techi is. Even the Korean judges & trainee's knew her by name. Jurina is Idol Incarnate. Techi is literally standing on the shoulders of 45 other girls swinging her arms until she can become a full time actress.

    @Heywood Jabloemy @Didi @Everyone
Please don't compare Matsui Jurina to Techi or any other people, thank you.

@Didi: Idol doesn't necessarily need to be talented in singing and dancing. That's why no actual singer, performer etc want to be called idol. If singing and dancing are the priorities, Acchan (not dancer), Yuko (not singer), Sasshi (not both), Mayuyu (not dancer) would never be the queen. Sakura who is currently the most popular member worldwide not even good at either dancing or singing.
This is not school, you're not ranked based on something like talent.

If what you want is fair treatment based on skill, you need to check actual soloist or maybe groups from LDH.

That only started thanks to Aki-P. Back when Hello Project was on top (about a decade ago), singing and dancing were still important.

  • Comment Link Tuberose Friday, 15 February 2019 19:24 posted by Tuberose

Seems like I forgot to submit my reply so here
@Elvin: Aki-p pioneered Jpop Idol thing with his group Onyanko Club so using the word "still" is wrong. And you really said H!P? You do realise the famous members mostly are horrible singers right? Kago Ai, Matsuura Aya, Michishige Sayumi etc. Heck back when they started even Wada Ayaka, Suzuki Airi, Takahashi Ai etc weren't good singer (they improved tho) The good singers are the less popular ones.

  • Comment Link Elvin Saturday, 16 February 2019 01:11 posted by Elvin

@Tuberose Matsuda Seiko and Nakamori Akina "pioneered" jpop idols, Aki-P pioneered idol marketing tactics.

"The most famous members" "Kago Ai, Matsuura Aya, Michishige Sayumi" Just no.

And yes, the elementary schoolers and middle schooler were not good singers when they started, I'm not sure what your point is with that statement.

  • Comment Link Tuberose Saturday, 16 February 2019 14:55 posted by Tuberose

@Elvin sorry, I meant Jpop Idol GROUP. How many solo IDOL (not actual singer) who didn't start from a group and is popular nowadays bc of their singing?

and don't try to twist my words, I said "the famous members are MOSTLY" not the most famous. Are you trying to say those three are not among the famous members produced by H!P?

Indeed, that's why I said even H!P didn't choose their members based on natural skill they improved just like SOME of 48G girls, the ones with singing skill but no variety skill are buried as well. H!P isn't that different to 48G anyway, it's the pretty girls who are popular.

  • Comment Link Elvin Saturday, 16 February 2019 19:39 posted by Elvin

Amuro Namie was part of an idol group.
And if you're talking about "popular today," onyanko doesn't really fit the bill for that either. I can only recall one by name and that's because she's Kimura Takuya's wife.

Michishige was 4th from the bottom in terms of popularity (her own words) and could dance well. You'll have to show me what clip you saw of Maatsura Aya and Kago that made you think they're bad singers because I've never heard them sing off tune or off beat (though it has been a while since I've seem a clip of them singing live).

H!P has their eggs like the 48g have their kenkyuusei. The difference is that H!P will let you go if they don't think they can debut you (like the first gen of Up Up Girls (kari)), whereas I've only heard of KKS quitting on their own.

  • Comment Link Tuberose Sunday, 17 February 2019 15:22 posted by Tuberose

@Elvin: you do realise 80s is almost 40y ago? Even Big western singers like Madonna, Elton John, Diana Ross, Bob Dylan etc are all not popular anymore with the young gen (heck 00s children don't know Mariah Carey). Most celebrities are only significant for a decade or two (I can even name you tons of 00s singer who are no longer heard). Btw you're talking about Kudo Shizuka, she was famous on her own during the 80-90s, she's worshipped by all the girls and when she married Kimutaku everyone had to accept it bc they made a perfect couple. Other girls are Kokusho Sayuri (she's literally the queen of Valentine Song in Japan), also Watanabe Marina, Kawai Sonoko, Ikuina Akiko etc. You probably aren't familiar with the 80s music but it doesn't mean you can just disrespect them.

I said IDOL who wasn't part of a group and hit it big (not a one hit wonder type) and can actually sing. Idky you brought Namie here?

Sayumi may said so but statistics shows she's among the most popular HP members. You can just Google or YouTube, anyways singing in tune doesn't makes you a great singer if you're only a Karaoke level singer. Oh and I still like them, bc I don't expect Idol to sing as good as actual singer so it's not a problem for me.

Yeah? No one said 48G will automatically let you debut or you're guaranteed a center position? You're free to leave if you have no backbone.

  • Comment Link Elvin Sunday, 17 February 2019 21:19 posted by Elvin

I think you kind of forgot what the argument was. My original statement was that singing and dancing standards did matter until Aki-P showed how much money you could make without them and you countered with onyanko, so I don't know why you'd be talking about something other than older idols if you wanted to counter my statement.

Amuro Namie was part of an idol group originally but outshined the other girls with her skills and went solo. That's an example of what you were asking for, right?

You'll need to give me your definition of popularity if we're going to talk about Michishige. I think we're using different parameters.
And if you have statistics on MM or H!P popularity then or now, I'd like to see them out of curiosity.

48G won't let you debut but they won't straight out fire you like H!P has. As valuable as Kao-tan was to SKE in the end, she would've been let go if she got into H!P as an egg. They expect a certain amount of proficiency and that's my entire point, it has nothing to do with backbone.
