    Wow that's a long time.....AKB is far better then IZ*ONE. I would rather be in AKB if i was sakura. I'm now glad Juri-Miru are not in it.

    I wonder how much will this affect their career in 48G. Most members who have taken hiatus before usually will have a decrease in ranking when they came back.
    Hiichan's career is not that good yet so she has nothing to lose. Nako will probably comeback as the other half of Miku and could easily gain the fans' heart again, also with Sasshi's support (wait so Sasshi will be in 48G til 2021?). Sakura would be benefited with Kfans and Ifans, but would her Jfans (middleaged men with thick wallet) stay? Are the Kfans and Ifans rich enough to support her? Wanna One's career is fantastic but the ones spending money on them are fangirls, are fanboys rich?

    Also their contract ended in 2021, if AKB48 managed to take a spot as performers for Tokyo Olympic 2020 those 3 will miss out no?

    ^Mark: Knetz reaction towards Juri wasn't that great, Mirun tho. But we all know since she'll be the next ace of NMB with Sayanee graduating soon she won't make it to IZ*ONE no matter what, since the result was rigged anyway.

    That’s a LONG time in 48G years. I wonder if Sasshi will still be around. I also can’t imagine Miku without Nako. I really hope Haruppi comes back to help lead the young bloods in HKT.

    2.5 years.....omg. Let’s hope it’s worth it and IZONE makes some decent songs.

    No, you are not wrong, I heard rumour too, but it seems the terms was not confirmed (if you following Produce 48, you may notice the management changed several rules in the middle of the shows), I remember Sasshi once said she hopes Sakuratan able to hold a concurrent position, anyway fact is fact, let's face it. By the way, it is not a good arrangement but perhaps it is the best one upon AKB48 group's current situation.

    This good, to me their popularity will increase a lot, ofcourse in those 2.5 years, someone of them will graduate from 48g

    i like kpop too and their industry will love them, i mean kpop fans love Mina Sana and Momo so... just wait for their graduation announcement :v

    I don't understand why would Sakura do this. She's so popular on 48G . I don't get it. There isn't a single girl group in Korea that sells a million copies. At all. Not even SES or Finkl ever sold that high . Boy groups are another history . Girl groups in Korea don't sell well physically . Fanboys don't really invest in Korea. And honestly , Japan is the second biggest market in the world. Why quit that for kpop?. She'll regret it in the future.

    No Girl group you say Pam??? TWICE has sold over 4 million physical albums (Between Korean & Japan). They are also 1 of only 3 KPOP Artists to have a MV go over 400 Million views on YoUTube.

    Success is measured differently in Korea (Pop music wise). People were buying Subway Ads & Billboards promoting their girls in Produce48 (for 1 Girl!!)- You're worried Sakura isn't gonna get "loved" w/ fan $$??

    ^Pam: I guess K-pop's grass is greener. Pragmatically, yes Jpop sell better but look at Kpop: they get noticed by Hollywood these days, theyre sponsored by Gucci and Chanel, they tour worldwide, their fans are allowed to buy them land or star. It's a bling bling life yo.

    @Pam
    Nobody know what happened, nor what Sakuratan is thinking. But, you following Japanese showbiz for awhile, you may know Japanese artist does not have right of their own, even their name. Many their decision are decided by their agency. For Korean part, no comment, sorry I really don't know about it.

    @Tuberose
    Really? I hope Sakuratan, Nako and Hitomi have good success there.

    Sakura has planned this tho. That's why she said that 2018 sousenkyou would be her last sousenkyou. I suspect that sousenkyou wont be held in 2019 or probably wont be held anymore.

    A lot of people here are forgetting what Sakura, Nako, Hitomi, and all the other 48 Group contestants cited as their main motivation for joining Produce 48 and becoming IZ*ONE, and that was to become a "global" idol. For all of 48 Group's popularity and success in Japan, they are nowhere near as globally recognized as Kpop groups like Girls Generation, Twice, IOI, etc. And they see the international recognition and respect Kpop groups get. Sakura said it herself - that Kpop groups are well respected and admired in Japan and all over the world, whereas when 48 group leaves Japan they get no recognition. Fair or not, that is the reality and motivation for those like Sakura, Nako, and Hitomi who want to grow and challenge themselves further. I'm sure all 3 ladies, their families, and management all weighed the pros and cons and came to the conclusion that this was a great opportunity to sacrifice for.
