52-hertz Whales is a story of salvation and rebirth, Mishima Kiko (Sugisaki Hana) expels herself from her dysfunctional family and hometown and moves to a seaside town, she was abused by her own mother and younger stepbrother. Then, Mishima Kiko meets a nameless boy there, whom her abusive mother Shinagi Kotomi (Nishino Nanase) calls Mushi (Insect), she has a feeling that he is an abused kid too, so she tries to rescue him...
