Japanese female idol group AKB48 held their 60th single concert at Budokan on 7 October 2022, with a shocking announcement: The group's Team 8 are planning to take a rest after Team 8's 9th anniversary concert next April.

AKB48's Team 8 is an independent and special team of AKB48, the team project was announced during AKB48 Request Hour Setlist Best 200 2014. It HAD BEEN SUPPORTED by Toyota. However, Toyota, even its Aichi branch changed their strategy with AKB48 group after General Election 2018, and their relationship became worse after NGT48 scandals in 2019. Due to the team's independence, their idols are more popular than AKS', Team 8's Oguri Yui and Honda Hitomi now are the Aces of AKB48 after AKB48 golden age's members graduated.
